Granite boulder, 5 tons, with sound

Under open sky and year round, one can listen to found and unknown Sami tales and one yoik by mother and daughter. The Sami tales were collected scientifically in the 1920s by Jus Qvigstad and bound into four large books. Within the work boulder of tales, two hours of stories are now reimagined in contemporary north Norwegian dialect. The two-minute yoik brings the original language and tone of the Sami way of singing into the stone. The tales unveil life and relationships between people and nature as well as a pagan world.
