Permanent outdoor installation, jesmonite in marble dust
Wanderlust (2017) is a permanent outdoor installation in several parts. The footsteps are formed in jesmonite mixed with marble dust, cast from a clay model made by the artist. The artist performed on a long “corridor” of clay, leaving impressions in the material. The jesmonite footsteps are installed in a steel construction on the ground. Lit from both sides, it appears as footsteps in the snow illuminated by moonlight.
This installation with footsteps is in the ground on a pavement facing the sea. It is based on the history of the place, as it is in a harbour area in Ålesund, Norway, a town some left by boat, not always to return.
